Psalm 139 Part Two

Psalm 139 Part Two

Psalm 139 is such a precious chapter in the Bible. I wanted to share some thoughts that I enjoyed from it, quoting the New Living Translation.

Psalm 139: 13-16

You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it. God formed you, you are 100% His workmanship. You are special to Him, you are full of worth because He created you.

You are handmade by God! He didn’t make a mistake. God never makes mistakes. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. God was there for every second of your life in the womb. He was there as each cell separated to make more cells. He was there as each bone was formed and each muscle fashioned and each freckle was painted. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. (Psalm 139:13-16)

Here it is. God wrote your biography before you were even born! Wow. You may never be famous or popular, but each Christian can say without a doubt, that there is a biography of their life, written by the Creator of the universe!

Even those whose life ends before they leave the womb have a biography written as well. Their life may have been short, but all the details of that precious life were penned by God. “Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.”

That is such a precious thought to remember….especially when things seem to be going all wrong! God’s plan is better than any plan that I could come up with for my life or you could come up with for yours! His timing is always perfect. Nothing is ever a surprise to Him.

Psalm 139: 17-18

How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up, you are still with me! (Psalm 139:17)

God thinks about us all the time. God has so many thoughts about us that we can’t even count them. When I feel alone, when I feel no one loves me and everyone has abandoned me, I can know God has not. He is thinking about me 24/7. He was thinking of me and planning me before I was even born.

How precious was that! Now that makes me feel loved and gives me the confidence that He, the God of the universe, IS in control!!

Divine Superlatives

In a world where love is so abused and not reliable and so easily disappoints, what a blessing to know that God never disappoints, never stops loving us, never stops thinking about us, never stops pursuing us!
